FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
StuFund Forges Partnership
with the Black College Expo
Liberty Corner, NJ (PRWEB) – September 11, 2007
– Student Funding Group, LLC (StuFund), the premiere minority-owned student
loan originator, announced today that the company will be a sponsor of the
2007-2008 Black College Expo.
Currently, The Expo’s national tour offers college fairs in the following
cities: Oakland, Los Angeles,
Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Washington DC and New York.
“StuFund worked
with Black College Expo in 2006.
We were very impressed with their fairs and their success in being able to
attract so many minority youth and their parents who were excited and
positive about the prospect of attending college,” said Donna Sotolongo, Psy
D, EVP and Head of Corporate Relations for StuFund.
“We look forward to taking a larger
role in supporting Black College Expo in the coming school year.”
As part of the
sponsorship, StuFund will continue to actively participate in parent and
financial aid seminars at each expo.
In reaching thousands of perspective college students at each event,
StuFund will provide advisement and information to young people and their
families who are looking for guidance in financing a college education.
In addition, StuFund Knowledge
Center will offer the necessary online tools and information to help
families negotiate the complex admissions process.
“We
are truly excited about this sponsorship and look forward to a long and
fruitful relationship with StuFund,” said Theresa Price, President and
Founder of Black College Expo.
“We share a common vision - to prepare and expose young people to college
opportunities and especially the great opportunities that exist at
historically black colleges and universities.”
About StuFund
StuFund is a minority business
enterprise in the educational loan space. It is built on the philosophy that
each and every student can and should have access to funding for quality
higher education. The company’s mission is to provide loans,
particularly for students who could not afford college without such
financing, and to support and guide families through the financial aid
process. In addition to offering educational loans for undergraduate
and graduate schools and college loan consolidation, StuFund’s Knowledge
Center provides expert advisement on college admissions and financial aid.
It hopes to address the fact that many students do not have sufficient
access to college advisement in their schools. Through partnerships
with Universities, Corporations, and Non Profit Organizations, StuFund hopes
to educate the public about the college application process and financing
options. More information is available at

About Black College Expo
The mission of Black College
Expo is to expose young people, mainly African American youth, to higher
education with the ultimate goal of encouraging self-pride and
self-development. In accomplishing this mission we focus on possibilities:
reaching out to youth that never thought about college, never thought they
could go to college, never were encouraged to go to college and/or are not
familiar with the college process.
We continue to add to our resource base of information for parents
and students to make a college education a reality for our youth.
In doing so, we present a college fair, focusing on Historically
Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), in an entertaining
atmosphere...."An Infotainment College Fair". Through our Black College Expo
and other outreach activities, we facilitate awareness of the opportunities
and resources that exist to ultimately strengthen the individual, which in
turn strengthens our communities.
